Delegation of China Foreign Trade Centre Promoted the Canton Fair in Turkey

From September 9 to 11, Mr. Chu Shijia, Vice President and Secretary General of the Canton Fair and Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre, led a delegation to Turkey to promote the 134th Canton Fair and advance pragmatic cooperation. The delegation held a business seminar in Ankara and a promotion conference in Istanbul, visited Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK).

 

At the meeting with the Turkish business community, Chu pointed out that as early as more than 2,000 years ago, the Silk Road across Eurasia had bridged Chinese-Turkish commercial and cultural exchanges. In recent years, under the guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Turkish President Erdogan, Chinese-Turkish economic and trade cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Turkey is an important emerging market with a wide market range and promising development prospects. Turkish enterprises are sincerely welcome to attend and participate in the Canton Fair, explore the huge Chinese and global markets, and achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development at a higher level through Canton Fair’s efficient trade promotion platform.

 

The Turkish business community hailed the Canton Fair as a significant exhibition. In the new historical period, they will further make full use of the platform, tap the potential of bilateral cooperation, improve cooperation quality and level, and bring Chinese-Turkish economic and trade to a new level.

 

During the visit, the delegation also met with Mr. Liu Shaobin, Chinese Ambassador to Turkey, and Mr. Wei Xiaodong, Chinese Consul General in Istanbul. They exchanged views on matters such as buyer and exhibitor invitation and visa application facilitation.
